About

Background

CENTRAS ( Center for Tropical Animal Studies) have been established under the decree of IPB Rector No. 061/K13/OT/2005 with the spirit to utilize and develop biological resources, particularly animal resources, livestock or wild animals for sustainable development.

CENTRAS-LPPM-IPB scope oriented and focused on the 5 (five) as the principal areas of core competence. CENTRAS-LPPM IPB scope oriented program for:
1. Animal Health and The Veterinary Epidemiology
2. Husbandry Socio-Economic and Animal Health
3. Wild Animal and Aquatic Animal
4. Nutrition and Feed Technology
5. Production and Livestock

Mission

Conducting research and community empowerment in Indonesian tropical animal resources, and science and technology dissemination for environmental sustainability and sustainable development.

Purpose 

1. Conducting animal studies the potential of tropical Indonesia and its supporting factors.
2.Providing input to government in policy formulation related to the development and utilization of tropical animals to potential public welfare
3.Conducting a critical evaluation of government policies and academic-related tropical animals and formulate alternative solutions.
4.Dissemination of research results to the public through seminars and scientific publications.
5. Improving the quality of human resources which play a role in the development of tropical animals through research, training and apprenticeships.
